Trade Schools - Vocational
Trade schools offer a wide variety of career-focused programs. Training in good, accredited trade schools allows for high-quality entry-level employment or for advancement into better positions. Trade school graduates often go into their chosen trade immediately upon graduation.
Trade schools respond to needs of employers in their communities and to changes in job environments by keeping up with technology and industrial growth. Nationally accredited trade schools abound, giving students many choices of quality training and education for rewarding career opportunities.
Students choosing trade schools for preparing for lifelong employment can study anything from acting to welding. Popular choices in trade schools are culinary arts, cosmetology, automotive service and technology, electrical and electronic engineering technology, R/HVAC systems, carpentry, construction, plumbing, and trucking. Other options include aviation, landscape design, paralegal, barbering, safety inspection, computers and information technology, graphic design, and much, much more.
Students interested in a specific trade or field of study should talk with the career counselors at their chosen trade school. Students should also research specific career position requirements. For instance, if considering architecture, consider the responsibilities of that field. Architects prepare plans for new buildings and for remodeling existing buildings, so must be creative and able to develop ideas into practical plans for use by others. Computers are used extensively by architects, so applications of software and design are require, as is a background in art. Architects also need good communications skills.
