Learning Styles Test

No matter your age, taking a learning styles test will help you understand just how your brain processes information. We begin learning at birth (some scholars even say our education begins in the womb) and the ways in which we study, absorb information and retain facts is due to one of the four common learning styles. The four learning styles are: visual/verbal, visual/non verbal, auditory/verbal and tactile/kinesthetic. To determine which of the four styles you are, all you have to do is take a learning styles test!

There are many reasons why it s important to take a learning styles test. If you are forcing yourself to study in a way that is not beneficial to your learning style, you are not going to understand or retain as much information as you would have otherwise. Once you do know the best study habits for your learning style, you will be able to change the way you take in information.

Finding a learning styles test is easy and the best part is that they re usually free! The internet offers a wealth of information on the different styles and many different learning styles test options for you to choose from. Many of these tests will give you the results right when you are done, so you won t have to wait a few weeks to know which of the learning types you are.

To locate a learning styles test, go to your favorite search engine and see what results come up. You might be surprised with how many websites are offering a learning styles test, questionnaire or quiz because there will be hundreds to choose from. Decide which one you want to take and then get started. Dependant upon the test, there could be anywhere from 20-100 in depth questions.

Another great and reputable source for finding a learning styles test is your own school or university. Most schools will offer these services to their students free of charge, so talk to your counselor and see if they can provide you with a learning styles test. One of the benefits of taking this type of a test at your school is that you will have someone there that can discuss your results with you and answer any questions that you may have. You and your counselor can devise a plan of action based upon the results of your learning styles test that will help enhance your educational experience.

For additional information on the four different learning styles and learning styles test options, you can visit your local bookstore. Most bookstores will have a section just for learning styles and you can choose the books that you think would be most beneficial to you. Some of the books will just be in depth descriptions of each of the learning styles while others will be tests, quizzes and questionnaires to help you determine which one most applies to you. It s not important where you find your learning styles test, what matters most is that you know your learning style and understand your studying habits.
