Hubble Space Telescope
The telescope is one primary tool for viewing distant objects. As man s curiosity and perseverance to discover what was happening far outside of the earth increased, the Hubble space telescope was developed.
The Hubble space telescope orbits the Earth. Its position outside of the Earth s environment enables the device to capture vivid ocular images of the minutest objects.
This type of telescope provides great benefit to the field of astronomy. Since its creation in 1990, it has marked a major significance in the field of science and has ranked as one of the most vital telescopes in the record of astronomy.
The Hubble space telescope has provided numerous innovative observations and explanations that have helped astronomers understand astrophysics. However, it has had its problems. Originally, the idea for the telescope was developed in 1946, but the project was delayed because of resources and budget constraints.
Finally, in 1990, the space telescope was launched. Another problem when the main mirror suffered from spherical aberration. It delimited the space telescope s deliverance of its finest performance.
It was in 1993, that the Hubble was revived and reshaped in accordance to what had been in the original plan. From then on, the space telescope had greatly helped scientists as a fundamental research apparatus for astronomical study.
Up to this day, no one is certain whether or not the Hubble space telescope will continue to function properly. NASA officials are considering the launching of a repair mission but are unsure of its success. For one, a robotics mission is not a guarantee , and a repair mission by the astronauts will surely be perilous.
After 2010, it is thought that the Hubble telescope will reenter the Earth s atmosphere. By 2013, a descendant space telescope known as the James Webb will be launched, but it is only limited to observing via infrared - limited compared to the capabilities of the Hubble space telescope.
Despite several other groundbreaking instruments with higher resolutions, nothing has beaten the sensitivity of the Hubble space telescope with regards its discernible wavelengths.
